Show Notes

Nicholas Winton (1909-2015) was a British philanthropist who organized a rescue operation that brought to safety approximately 669 children - mostly Jewish - from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia to the Great Britain before the outbreak of World War II. Despite his desire to retire to private life, Britain's Schindler not only was acclaimed by the public opinion, but was also knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to humanity.
