Frans Van Der Hoff (1939) is considered the inventor of the first Fairtrade certification label, based on an alternative commerce system, where justice and respect for producers have the same importance as the quality of products. Thanks to the fair trade web, nowadays lots of farmers and producers from the poorest countries can empower themselves in the global market and earn an appropriate salary for their work.
